A little bit about me....

I'm a mother. I'm a wife. I'm a member of the LDS church. I'm a runner. I'm a homemaker.

I'm a lot of things. Probably my favorite thing to be is a mother. It's the most rewarding "job" I've ever had and I smile more now each day than I ever have in my life. I have 3 beautiful children who teach me something new each day and who push me to my limits and help me become a better person. Being a mother is seldom easy, but it's always worth it. I had to wait a long time to have my kids but I think that's made me appreciate them all the more.

I love being a wife. Probably what has made the biggest impact on me to be a better wife are the teachings of Dr. Laura. I've read her book The Proper Care and Feeding of Husbands and loved it. I thought at first it would be sexist, but it wasn't at all. I try to live by her teachings and my husband is happy because of it. And when he's happy, I'm happy.

I love running. I miss running. Before I had kids I would run and lift weights every work day for at least an hour - usually two or three. I ran the Top of Utah Marathon in September 2007 - the year before my oldest was born. I ran it in 4:14 and didn't stop to walk once. I was proud of my accomplishment and hold that moment dear in my heart. I've run races since then, but nothing that intense or involved. I still run, but not as often as I'd like to. I had my youngest just two months ago and am still trying to find the schedule and the energy to get back into it. I run with my sister-in-law and LOVE it. We've become pretty close by running together and I love her to death. I've run races with her and with my sister and my dad as well. I got my whole family involved in a Turkey Trot 5K one year and that was great! I love running.

I've been a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints my whole life. I've gone through times when I wasn't the "best" member and times when I was the best I could be. But, I've always known it to be true. I love the gospel and I love Jesus Christ. I am grateful I have the knowledge that I will be with my family for all of eternity. It gives me so much peace and joy to be able to do what I love the most forever.

I am a homemaker, but I don't LOVE cleaning. I like cooking well enough. I like baking more than cooking. I do enough cleaning just to get by and keep my husband happy. I do enough cooking to keep my family fed and to be a decent cook. I'm definitely not GREAT, but I'm definitely not BAD either.

What am I? I'm a mother. I'm a wife. I'm a member of the LDS church. I'm a runner. I'm a homemaker.
